The Last Time I Did Something New 1/6/15

1/9/15
Prompt: When was the last time you did something for the first time?

The last time I did something for the first time was over winter break. I was with my parents, my grandma, my brother, and my cousins. We went to Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin to go snow tubing. Since, it didn't snow at the time the snow was fake, but it seemed so real. My cousins live in a state where it doesn't snow, so that was their first seeing snow, even though it was fake. The mountain that we snow tubed down was 50 feet tall and had a mini bump/ramp close to the end of it.  It also had 8 lanes that you could choose to go down.

Snow tubing there was a lot of fun with many funny experiences. You could tube down with a partner because there was rope on each tube. My brother and I attempted to do that. He decided to tie the ropes together and right before we went down the hill they untied. Luckily I was able to stop myself from going down with him. There were also a lot of slips and falls which were funny. Wearing gym shoes made it hard for us not to slip. We had the most fun in the beginning because they allowed us to go down the 'fast' lane, but then they decided those lanes were too dangerous which lead them to close them.

There were some cool things about Wilmot Mountain. To get to the top of the mountain you stood on a conveyor belt with your tube. At times, you would lose your balance when stepping on the conveyor, which was really funny. The ride on the conveyor belt was long, but worth it. There was a cabin at the tubing hill, too. You could warm up in the cabin if you got cold. You could also buy hot chocolate and other drinks. This was the last time I did something new.

  1. Wow that must have been fun was the fake snow as good as real snow or was it slippery like real snow.
